Plenary Speakers: Robin Reid and Christian Hempelmann, Texas A&M Commerce

Our plenary speakers for THATCampOK 2016 workshop on May 20th will be Robin Anne Reid, Professor in the Literature and Languages Department, and Christian F. (“Kiki”) Hempelmann, Asst. Professor in Literature and Languages, at Texas A&M-Commerce.  They will be discussing their Tolkien Corpus Project in which they are creating an online corpus of the works of J.R.R. Tolkien for stylistic and semantic analysis.

I am the English, Foreign Languages, Theatre, and Music subject specialist librarian at Oklahoma State University. I hold a PhD in English and a Master's in Library Science, and previously served on the English faculty of Texas Tech University. My research interests include digital humanities (especially in teaching), scholarly communication in the humanities, and in the literary field, J.R.R. Tolkien and British and American fantasy fiction.
